"The
Wireless Guide to Industry Railroad Safety"
FREE
Industry Track Safety Inspection (ITSI) ?????? Yea Right. No Really.
Allen
Railroad Consulting (ARC) has performed tens of thousands of Industry
Track Safety Inspections (ITSI) for more then 30 years through the Midwest
and Southern States. ARC compiles ITSI data and finds that 30% of
all industry track work isn't Federal Railroad Administration
(FRA) 213 Track Safety Standards (TSS) required. That 30% is equal to the cost of 3
Railroad Contractor ITSI. There is no such thing as a FREE ITSI. The
FRA set the value of a qualified Track Safety Inspector at
$120K per year with expenses. All FRA 213 TSS Qualified Track Safety
Inspectors are valuable and they don't work and travel for FREE.
- "Railroad Safety User
Fees"
- February 2,
2010 President Obama announced "Railroad Safety User
Fees" which allows the FRA to raise $50M per year by charging
for Track Safety Inspections and an additional $4.5M
for 31 more FRA 213 TSS Qualified Track Safety Inspectors. This is in addition
to the 2008 Rail Safety Improvement Act, that refunded the FRA for the first time since 1997 and
adds 250 more
inspectors over the next 5 years, doubling the present FRA
Inspectors roster. When railroad contractors are competing
with the FRA for track inspections fees the false perception of a FREE ITSI
will be gone.
Your
company can get ahead of up coming FRA mandates, still get regular ITSI and potentially
save tens of thousands of dollars by having a staff member taking online,
the same certification FRA Track Safety Inspectors and
Contractor Track Safety Inspector are required to have. It can
take one, years learning how to do track work but a matter of
hours to learn if the track is safe or not. http://www.railroadtraining.biz
For less
then the cost of a average ITSI and about 40 hours of your companies
designate time online,
your company staff member will receive a
5 year FRA 213
TSS Qualified/ARC-Tech.Net Certification. Once your companies
designate has completed the FRA 213 TSS online Certification ARC will
perform a onsite Complimentary Railroad Track Safety
Inspection
with your companies designate to show them what to be looking
for when they are doing your company ITSI on their own.
All
future track inspections can be performed by your
company using desktop or a internet compatible cell phone. Take GEO Tagged pictures
(Most cell phone GEO tag pictures) and email to Inspector@allenrailroad.com
so that ARC can advise your companies
designate in real time as they are performing regular ITSI.
- ARC will measure, plot track
for use on http://earth.google.com/,
prepare inspection report and estimated cost and other
needed services, including helping your company to keep
the FRA away from your company and avoid FRA "Railroad Safety User
Fees" by
complying with the last of all FRA 213 TSS
Safety Rules.
- §213.241
Inspection records
- 241(a) Each owner of track
to which this part applies shall keep a record of
each inspection required to be performed on that
track under this subpart.
A informed
client is a good client. ARC understands how you do your job
because ARC has been doing our job along side people in your position
for more then 30 years. ARC believes once you are performing your
company ITSI,
you will come back to ARC for future
track services.
Also, make sure that the
railroad contractor that does any track work have the required
FRA
214 Railway Workers Protection and
that they are up to date. ARC will split the cost on the FRA 214
RWP when combined with your companies' FRA 213 TSS Qualified/ARC-Tech.Net
Certification Track Inspector gets both certifications.
